Try closing other programs that might be using your webcam. Other programs using webcam did not give me any error at all, and the camera simply did not work. I updated drivers, and when that did not work, I uninstalled all 3 camera drivers from my computer. Two of them automatically redownloaded:. Then the same problem started happening again. Unfortunately, after running the exe, I received the following error: "The installer failed to detect an Intel RealSense 3D Camera on this system.

The installation was terminated. I don't know how to fix the problem or how to reinstall the virtual driver if necessary. It seems to me that the computer is not recognizing that I have a webcam at all. I ran a Dell hardware scan, and the webcam's hardware is not broken. I have an Inspiron Windows 10 bit operating system. I believe the original purpose of the Virtual Driver when the F launched back in was to allow non-RealSense programs such as Skype to be able to access the camera if a RealSense application was already using the camera.

A search of non-Intel sites found that a number of people have experienced the same or similar problem with the built-in F camera in their Dell Inspiron The problem most commonly affects the SR camera model but there have been some reports of F problems too that may be related to the update. Could you bring up your System Information please you can find it by typing 'system info' into the text box at the bottom of your Windows screen, by the button in the corner that you use to shut the PC down.

In the Version section of the System Information, if it has the Build number '' then that is the Creators Update that has been causing people problems with their camera. If you do have this Windows version installed, Intel and Microsoft have been working together on a fix for the Creators Update camera issue. It is not yet available though, and its release status is "pending".

BTW, with built-in cameras I recommend using the camera drivers provided by your manufacturer Dell rather than the DCM from the Intel download page, since manufacturers may implement the built-in cameras in ways not entirely compatible with the drivers for the external USB version of the camera. These drivers can be found by searching for your PC model on Dell's support site. This happened after restoring the PC following a Windows 10 issue. All other applications are working fine, however some required reinstallation.

Each time it just restores the same drivers, without the missing " Front F Left Right" one. I now have exactly the same problem. My camera hello sign in feature broke when windows updated me to the latest 'insider build' Now it does not work. Can you help? I cannot install the software you mention, could you provide me with a more specific link? I have tried installing and it comes up with the red text original post says.

Hi Jose. The DCM will not install as it cannot detect the RealSense camera please see my original post for a screenshot of the error message. A user had a problem similar to your issue when he updated Windows, maybe it will be useful to you. Ah sorry, have installed SDK Essentials now.

Log files attached. I managed to download and install SDK essentials. Here is my zipped log. My camera works, but only 1 app each time, there was no failure.

On windows sign in for hello setup it simply says my computer is not compatible, which is wrong as it is compatible. I have solved my problem. I had to do a complete reinstall of windows 10, ensuring everything was wiped and that it did not simply clean and reinstall the latest insider build.

I am now running the public official Win10 and it recognised my camera and allowed me to install the software. I wonder fi Acer need to find a solution to this if the latest insider build is going to break the 3d camera on the laptops.

Now regarding your issue I have investigated and it seems that your issue is due to the Windows Update. Sometimes it works by reinstalling Windows again, other times it is necessary to install a previous version. I completely restored Windows full restore, removing all files, applications and user settings but the same issue remained, except this time the Virtual Driver had disappeared too. I then reinstalled Windows with a fresh public copy full reinstall, removing all files, applications and user settings , and still had exactly the same issue, with only the Depth and RGB drivers installed, and the Virtual Driver and Left-Right driver missing again.

I downloaded the Depth Camera Manager again, and this time it installed succesfully, but only added the Virtual Driver. I was still missing the 3D Camera Left-Right driver, and the camera was still only operating in 2D, and was not being allowed by Windows Hello. This appeared to be the first program that could run the camera in 3D, and from that point on Windows Hello was happy and could use the camera.

Do I actually need this? What does it do? I uninstalled the device above and tried to reinstall it manually again but this time it didn't show up in the list of devices at all! I've searched everywhere online for a solution but nothing helped. I've been to Dell's community forum but I've come here because I think that this is a software problem and not a hardware one.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Hello, thank you so much for replying to my question! I uncovered the hidden devices and I found only this:. This device was giving me a code 45 error, so I tried to update it but there were no updates for it. After the update, I checked Device Manager and the above device was now missing even after uncovering hidden devices.

So I tried manually installing it again and this is all I could get:. But this device is giving me a code 10 error.
